Take your fitness professionals to the next level in postural assessment and train them how to restore the range and correct pattern of basic movements performed in daily life to gain more happy clients.

This course provides the knowledge and skills required to train clients in a functionally specific method. Participants will learn functional exercises that are appropriately designed for all types of athletes and sports enthusiasts.

The course focuses on particular movement patterns to help clients achieve better performance, health and long-term function. After successful completion, participants will earn the professional title of "Functional Training Specialist" on their PFA certificate.

Each student will receive course materials in printed form.

  • Identify and correct limiting factors in athletic performance
  • Identify and analyse the weak links in athletic movement
  • Assess, plan and implement a functionally specific training session
  • Conduct strength and endurance testing
  • Apply movement imbalance, speed and quickness training
  • Use power, speed and agility drills
  • Conduct performance sessions for rotation, swinging, throwing, striking, jumping, turning, kicking
  • Conduct progress evaluation
  • As a PT, you will now be able to work with Athletes and clients with various degrees of postural problems and make sure their body is appropriately prepared for the demands of intense training sessions and in doing so not only prevent injury but get them to reach peak performance.



This course requires a recognised, valid and current Fitness Instructor or Gym Instructor qualification which is accredited and mapped at EQF Level 3 | NQF level 4* If you didn't qualify with us, a scanned copy of your certificate will be required in response to your registration confirmation email.



This course is open to everyone who wants to improve their teaching skills and general knowledge in the field, walking the path of development and reach excellence.

Course hours that require 100% attendance: 8 hours during one weekend day |

Examination hours: Not applicable

No examination is required.


Participants must have 100% attendance, have sufficient involvement and pass the examination to receive the PFA Functional & Bodyweight exercises certification.

If the course has been completed but the examination hasn't, the participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance . The final Certification will only be awarded after passing the repeat examination.

The final Certification is given in printed form and enables the participant to teach classes and get insured.


Continuous Professional Development Certificate obtained: PFA FUNCTIONAL TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

Study Mode: Theory in class or studio and Practice in the gym and studio.


Participants must have 100% attendance and sufficient involvement to receive the PFA FUNCTIONAL TRAINING INSTRUCTOR certification.



After the successful completion of the course, the participant may:

  • Implement the knowledge and techniques gained in the area of their expertise such as Gym Instruction, Personal Training, Studio Instructors, etc.
  • Use the acquired points towards keeping their main Diploma qualification active

All PFA qualifications meet industry standards that have been developed and published by the European Health & Fitness Association (EHFA).

ProFi UK ensures that all standards used are mapped to and meet all appropriate International standards where possible, to ensure all students benefit from recognition of their status from other international bodies. 


  • We operate on a first-come, first-serve basis with no exceptions.
  • We allow only 10 places per course.
  • To secure your place on the course the payment should be made upon registration.
  • We allow 5 calendar days to receive payment before your place is given to another person that has paid.
  • After 5 calendar days have passed, and we haven't received any payment, you will need to register again if places are still available.
  • There is no possibility to extend the 5 calendar day period. Registrations are not accepted if you have already registered and the initial 5 days have not elapsed.
  • If we have received a late Early Bird payment (i.e. you registered for Early Bird but we haven't received a payment within 5 calendar days) you will be switched to the Regular Price as outlined in our Terms & Conditions. No exceptions will be made.
  • If you have signed up at the Regular Price or Early Bird price and we haven't received the full amount from you before the start of the course, then you will be subject to Instalment payments.
